We offer a full service for all dogs, cats and small pets such as rabbits and guinea pigs.
Routine appointments are available during the week - daily in the morning, afternoon and evening, and on a Saturday morning. We also run regular ‘cat only’ clinics, to reduce stress for our feline patients.
Our full appointment times are:
Emergency appointments are also always available outside of these times.
Home visits to small animals can be arranged with some notice.
We provide an email reminder service for vaccinations, worming and flea treatments when purchased from us.
We have a fully equipped operating theatre, including a multi-parameter patient monitor allowing us to take excellent care of your pet whilst under anaesthetic, and an incubator for puppies and small animals to recover from anaesthetics. This allows us to provide the best care for our patients, whether undergoing a routine procedure such as neutering, or an emergency procedure such as a caesarean.
We are equipped with in-house blood and urine analysis machines, ultrasound, X-ray, endoscope and microscope, allowing us to reach quick and reliable diagnoses for your pets. We also have a daily collection service from Nationwide Laboratories, allowing us to quickly process more complex diagnostic tests.
We have several ‘OV’ vets who are qualified to fill out Animal Health Certificates (AHC), and can also advise on required vaccinations and parasite treatments before travelling with your pets. If you are thinking about taking your pet on holiday with you, please get in contact with as much notice as possible.
We can offer progesterone testing with a result within 24 hours, and pregnancy scanning for bitches from day 30. If it is your first time breeding your bitch, we have a free guide available from the practice to help and are always happy to give advice should you need it.
We love meeting your new puppies and kittens! We can provide vaccinations, microchipping, and provide friendly advice about feeding, neutering, behaviour, and answer any questions you might have about your new family addition.
Nurse Clinics:
We offer nurse consultations for advice on topics such as weight loss and behaviour. Our registered nurses are also able to give second vaccinations, administer parasite treatment, perform bandage changes, and inject patients on long term medication such as Librela, Solensia or Cytopoint. Routine claw clips and nail trims can also be done by our nurses.
Socialisation classes
Is your dog terrified of the vets? Do you get nervous about bringing your dog in due to their behaviour? If so, they might benefit from our nurse-led socialisation classes. These half hour sessions offer a relaxed environment where your dog can get used to the waiting room, consulting rooms and different sights and smells of a vet practice without the anticipation of injections or other vet procedures. We are happy to go as slow as your dog is comfortable with, and build up trust, making future visits a hassle-free experience.
We offer a comprehensive pet healthcare plan, which includes vaccinations and all required flea and worming treatments, as well as free anal gland empties and nail clips, plus 10% off routine neutering and dental procedures, food, and counter sales.
We can provide repeat prescriptions for your pet, either filled by us, or written prescriptions are also available. We will examine your pet every 3 months to comply with legislation and to ensure their medication is correct, and that they are in the best possible health. The current price for a repeat prescription examination is £28.01 and a written prescription costs £15.85 for a single item and £24.50 for multiple items.
We are proud to run our own out-of-hours service 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We feel it is important to be there for our clients when they need us most. No matter the time of day, you can ring the usual practice number and speak to a member of our answering service team, who will put you quickly in touch with our duty vet, who is always a member of our own staff. Out-of-hours small animal emergencies are usually seen at the practice but may be seen on a home visit as determined by our duty vet.
It is never easy when the time comes to say goodbye to your pet, but we hope to make the process as simple and easy for both you and your pet as we can. We are happy to provide home visits, or for you to come to the surgery. Either way, we will ensure as peaceful an environment as possible. We are also able to arrange cremation, including individual with returned ashes, as required.
We are always happy to see second opinions as requested. Following the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons guidelines, we will request the history from the original practice. This is a routine process, and ensures we do not cause any drug interaction problems, and provides us with as much information as possible to help your pet.
